Hamburg’s urban regeneration project 'HafenCity' aims to create an entirely redeveloped urban district sandwiched between the historic district 'Speicherstadt' and the river Elbe by 2025. The extravagant Marco Polo Tower has already been completed: The spectacular shape of this 55m, 17 storey high building resembles a modern sculpture, rather than a residential complex.
