17. August 2011
These days, there are building sites everywhere you look in Hamburg's Hafencity. Between the historic Speicherstadt and the Elbe, a whole new district will be completed by 2025. The extravagant Marco Polo Tower is already finished - with CeraLine shower channels in some of the customised bathrooms.
The tower is 55 m high, has 17 floors and a spectacular design that reminds the onlooker more of a modern sculpture than a "residence": Soft round forms, barely a right angle, large windows and generous wraparound balconies on each floor, prime location with striking panorama views of the Elbe and city centre.
The tower houses 58 exclusive apartments of varying sizes and without predetermined assignment of rooms or usage. Each owner has the opportunity, with the interior architect of their choosing, to individually plan and decorate the interior of their apartment as they wish.
Although some apartments are already finished and boast bathrooms with all the latest technical equipment. When it came to level-access showers, the primary choice was the CeraLine shower channel, the multi-design-award-winning linear drainage system from Dallmer. Thanks to its purist design, harmonious proportions and exclusive finish options, CeraLine is the perfect enhancement of virtually any room concept. The channel cover plates can be selected to match the tiled/natural stone flooring or - as a deliberate contrast - made of stainless steel, coloured glass or warm-toned teak. The channel can be installed anywhere flush-in-floor or directly front-of-wall so that even large-format tiles can be laid elegantly and without the need for sloped side sections. CeraLine shower channels are the natural complement to an interior design concept that prioritises individuality and personal elegance.
So great views and perspectives, both across the Hamburg harbour and in the shower.
