Even in its anniversary year, Dallmer continues to produce first-class product design. No fewer than three of its drainage systems have been nominated for the 'German Design Award 2014'. The innovative wall drainage system CeraWall S, the short shower channel TistoLine and the unique Aktiv! drainage system CeraLine Aktiv!.
Presented by the German Design Council, the German Design Award is one of the most widely recognised international design awards. It honours high-calibre products and projects that are pioneering in the German and international design arena. Only products that have been nominated for a German Design Award by the German Design Council, a foundation member or by a Ministry of Economics of one of the German federal states are permitted to take part in the competition. So even participation is considered the highest accolade.
Assessment criteria for the German Design Award 2014 include the following features (listed here in alphabetical order):
brand value and branding, design quality, durability, environmental compatibility and quality, ergonomics, functionality and handling, level of innovation, manufacturing technology and quality, overall concept, practical value, product aesthetics, product graphics and semantics, reliability and barrier-free accessibility, safety, technical quality, technical functionality.
The wall drainage system for level-access showers cleverly combines the aesthetics of a linear drainage system with maximum installation safety and reliability: the water is guided towards the underlying central drain body via a slope that has been milled into the drain channel with the utmost precision. Factory-cast with polymer concrete and a steel mesh reinforcement to form a single unit, it enables optimum integration into the waterproofing. The visible drain channel is fitted entirely above the waterproofing.
As a short channel of 30 cm, the TistoLine offers a reliable drainage solution for level-access showers of pristine elegance. The channel blends harmoniously with both tiles and natural stone, is compact and fitted with innovative Tisto technology: the housing anchors underneath the flange ensure that the drain is securely anchored in the screed and provide better bonding with the floor structure. This increases the reliability of the waterproofing in the area of the drain point, even in the case of temperature-related screed movement.
CeraLine Aktiv!, an ultra-flat shower channel with timelessly elegant stainless steel cover plate and sensor-controlled drainage pump, enables the installation of level-access showers where it would previously have been impossible due to lack of space. With an installation height of just 39 mm and without the need for direct connection to the wastewater pipe, you can now modernise virtually any bathroom. The pre-assembled installation box can be installed visibly mounted on the wall or concealed in a stud wall.
With its current nomination, Dallmer continues a long series of impressive design successes. With the CeraLine and CeraNiveau shower channels, Zentrix drain and its designer cover plates for floor drains, the company has been honoured in recent years with numerous international awards for its shower channels and designer drains, including the Red Dot Design Award - Best of the Best, various Red Dot und iF design awards, the American "Good Design" and many others. The 2014 nomination once again reaffirms the outstanding design and technical quality of Dallmer's product development.
