When a product is honoured with the Red Dot Design Award - Best of the Best 2008, that means it is outstanding in terms of design, technology and function. A jury of international experts judged more than 3203 submissions and chose the new Zentrix stainless steel grating from Dallmer for the coveted design award. Another expert jury also confirmed the outstanding design quality as Zentrix also recently received the iF Design Award 2008. This sees Dallmer further underpinning its design successes of recent years - with the CeraLine und CeraNiveau shower channels - and creating yet another highlight for level-access showers.
The award-winning Zentrix grating further complements the CeraNiveau drainage system with a new and very unique design. Zentrix belongs to a new breed of sculptures for drainage technology. A solid stainless steel cover plate opens inwards with a soft curve to form a gap through which the shower water drains away. The function of wastewater disposal is reduced to its bare essentials. The precision finish hides the renowned technology of the CeraNiveau short channel: a compact thin-bed drain acc. to DIN EN 1253, which ensures the reliable drainage of even larger volumes of water, with polymer concrete collar and integrated steel mesh reinforcement for secure anchoring in the screed and with ball joint for tension-free connection to the wastewater pipe.
Design is key to the commercial success of a company, because product design gives good ideas a form and is indispensable for differentiation in the global market. With its outstanding design, Zentrix once again underpins the increased importance of drainage points in level-access showers.
The results of this year's Red Dot Design Award impressively demonstrate the value of this award: while 1,253 companies from 51 countries submitted more than 3,200 products for expert assessment in Essen, only 50 top products received the "Red Dot: Best of the Best" for their outstanding and innovative design. In the case of the iF Product Design Award 2008, 35 countries submitted a total of 2,771 industrial products, of which 821 received awards.
Only those who incorporate simplicity and ease of operation into their products will be sustainably successful and play a key role in shaping the "New Modern", said iF design award jury chairman, Fritz Frenkler, discussing the iF product design award 2008. Its recent successes in two of the most internationally recognised design competitions once again confirms Dallmer's role as a trendsetter and manufacturer of premium products.
